Journalism is...

Journalism is...
"the activity or profession of writing for newspapers or magazines or of broadcasting news on radio or television." (Oxford Dictionary)

Journalism is...

"the Communication of current issues and events to an audience in a structured way, usually in relation to a set of generally agreed social principals such as accuracy" (The News Manual)

I guess Albert Camus sums it up for me, as to why it is so hard to define all journalism.
" Free press can, of course, be good or bad, but, most certainly without freedom, the press will never be anything but bad."
--Albert Camus (1913-1960) French novelist, essayist and dramatist

LETS TALK ABOUT THE STEREOTYPEIn my mind the stereotypical Journo for the 50's to 00's is male, wear a top hat with a cigar behind one ear and notepad and pen in hand. recently my thoughts have changed, I picture someone like Ryan Seacrest... someone who uses all forms of media to get their story across (instgram, twitter, Facebook, blogs, tv and radio.
