Sunday, 31st March, 60 minutes on WIN! reported on a 'impostor' case.
Nicholas Barclay, a American School boy was missing for 4 years before a impostor walked into barclays family claiming to be Nicholas. The then 23 year old posing as a 16 year old claimed when caught for fraud, that the Barclay family accepted him so willingly because they were covering up the murder of Nicholas Barclay, that his mother apparently committed. The Impostor was caught out by a detective who noticed the difference in ears between a photo of Nicholas and his impostor.
so what lengths will people go to, to cover things up?
let a stranger live amongst you and your family, eat your food, talk to your neighbours and form relationships with those closets to you.
unfortunately for this family there alleged plan to cover up Nicholas' murder backfired when Nicholas' impostor spilled a conversation he had with the Barclay family during a interview with the detective.
Now you know the back story, what do you think? what length would you go to in order to cover something up?
or what lengths would you go to, to ensure you get a new life posing as someone else?
who would you hurt? what would you risk?
I believe what Barclays poser vented, that Barclays family murdered Nicholas. On one hand i understand that families in the situation want their child back so bad that they would believe anything or atone with good news. although to accept a 23 year old posing as a 16 year old… something wasn't right, it just seemed as if they were covering something up, regardless if it was a murder or not.
so what would you do?
